Local casino tax money

The Prairie State Senate states they will not let smoke on riverboat casinos.

The senate voted against a measurement to relieve Prairie State gambling gambling casinos from the statewide smoke prohibition including the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria.

Casinos state the prohibition have crippled their grosses and could be the state as much as $100 million in lost taxations this year.

Advocates state the prohibition assists supply a healthier environment for gambling gambling casino frequenters and workers.

They state the lost gross is more than a merchandise of a tough economy.

East Peoria metropolis leadership state they aren't concerned about losing casino taxation money because of the senate vote.

East Peoria and Peoria both have a good ball of money from the Riverboat Gambling Tax.

East Peoria metropolis leadership state they divide the money with Peoria, and according to East Peoria, last financial year:Â Each metropolis received almost $4 million.

This twelvemonth projections are similar.

In East Peoria, that money is used for working capital purchases and street paving.

Peoria utilizes the finances for Riverfront development.
